Harkers Island, NC - Cape Lookout National Seashore plans to open Great Island and
Long Point cabins on Friday, March 16, 2012, and operate them until Friday, November
30, 2012. Visitors can start making reservations on January 5 at 10 a.m. (EST).
In an effort to improve customer service, the National Park Service will be
utilizing recreation.gov for reservations this season. According to Superintendent
Pat Kenney, "We are moving to recreation.gov in response to input from visitors
about our current reservation system. Recreation.gov will allow our visitors to have
the ability to make reservations at their convenience."
