Return those raffle tickets
Attached to the newsletter you'll find this year's raffle tickets for a Honda 1,000-watt generator. Each ticket costs $5. Though DIFF is now a non-profit group, the cost of the raffle tickets are not tax deductible.
But they are a good way to support the club. The yearly raffle is the club's second-largest source of income after membership dues.
Mail the stub with your donation to DIFF, P.O. Box 531, Pineville 28134.
The winner will be drawn on the last day of the club's fishing tournament. You don't have to be present to win.
Our good friends at H & S Roofing in Charlotte donated the generator.

Fishing tournament is filling up fast

Don't delay if you plan to fish in this year's DIFF Surf-Fishing Tournament set for Sept. 30 - Oct. 2 on Davis Island. Spots are filling up fast.
The tournament is limited to 135 entrants, and 101 club members have already signed up to fish. The entry fee is $50 before Aug. 1 and $60 afterwards, but if you wait that long you'll be left out.
The Tournament Committee is pleased with the way the things have gone the last two years, and no major changes are planned.
Entrants will once again compete for $6,100 in prize money in six categories --

red drum, flounder, bluefish, whiting and two species that will be chosen on the island before the tournament begins. Cash prizes will be awarded to the five largest fish in each category.
Alger Willis Fishing Camps, Inc. will once again provide lunch for all contestants on the tournament's last day.
